Pokemon Drabbles
« on: December 26, 2010, 10:29:38 PM »
It took Gold a few moments, but he finally realized exactly what was wrong. This gym was pink. VERY, very pink. It was fully of giggling girls with equally giggly, pink pokemon. However, the gym leader was the pinkest of the all, from her hair, to her clothes, to the abomination that she held in her arms. Gold groaned; this was going to be both pleasant and irritating.

Gold glanced around him, taking in the sight of all the pokemon around him. Most of them were fluffy and look light enough to punt. What was it with normal types and being /pink/? He could say this was the total opposite of Bugsy's gym, but the problem with that was the fact Bugsy's followers were both male and female. This gym had no trace of another boy, and Gold had to endure odd, dreamy looks from its occupants. Whitney herself had not the courtesy to look him in the eye as he walked closer, preferring to baby talk her Clefairy like it was a pet.

Gold resolved to beat her, and beat her fast. He could feel his masculinity draining - a trait that was already toned down heavily by the fact his team was 5/6 female in the first place, starter pokemon included. The Quilava at his feet bristled with anticipation.

There was nothing wrong with his female pokemon... they could kick just as much ass as Silver's team of males.

His feet finally entering her peripheral, Whitney looked upward at the boy staring down at her. "OH!" She gasped, standing up with her arms covering her amusingly flat chest. "It's not polite to stare!" she berated.

"Common courtesy also says you need to pay attention to your challengers." Gold said, rolling his eyes.

"Oh... a battle? I just became a gym leader a month ago!" She stood tall.

"... so... you're making an excuse, then?" Gold stared, at a loss of what to say.

"Oh no, nothing like that!" Whitney suddenly had a large grin on her face. "I just think it says something that the League wants me to be a leader when I'm so new at pokemon!"

Oooohhh.... she's an egotist. What fun.

"I'm warning you!" Whitney said, nudging her Clefairy onto the field. "I'm /good/."

That Clefairy had nothing on Gold's Wooper, which was hilarious given the fact Whitney screamed when he sent it out. Something about it being slimy.

However, the battle took a much different turn when she sent out what was possibly the ugliest pokemon Gold had ever seen.

It was a Miltank, tall and overly muscular for a pokemon that was supposed to be dainty and motherly.

"Th-the hell...?!" Both Gold and his Wooper were taken aback by the awful sight in front of them. The Miltank gave a creepily manly moo and stood ready to battle.

"My Clefairy is pretty babied, but don't think my Miltank is so easy!" Whitney cackled.

"What do you feed that thing?!" Gold took a step back, watching in horror as his Wooper was completely demolished.

"Oh, the usual. Pokemon food, berries." Whitney counted off. "HAH! He took out your Wooper like it was nothing!"

Her face fell when Gold sent out a Gastly.

"... so?! Ghosts can't hurt normal types!"

"No... but they can curse them!" Gold nodded at his Gastly, and it cried out suddenly as it drained its own health to afflict the Miltank with a curse.
The Miltank writhed as it took effect, flailing helplessly on the ground.

"No, you bastard!" Whitney shrieked, charging across the stadium to take a shot at the clever trainer who so terribly immasculated her pokemon that shouldn't have been male in the first place.

"Woah, hold- stop being so violent!" Gold called his Flaaffy out, stopping the gym leader in her tracks.

".............."

"... what?"
"It's... so cute!!" Whitney squealed, kneeling down to pull the pink sheep into her arms.

"Pink's my favorite color! Oh, trade it to me!!"

"It's electric." Gold commented.

"It's adorable!" Whitney shot back. "Gimme!"

The sheep was confused and slightly traumatized by the human female squishing it into her chest. It baa'd helplessly, looking to Gold for some kind of command.

Gold nodded his head, and the Flaaffy let loose a thundershock to remove the human blemish.

Whitney screamed, immediately letting go and falling to the floor, unconscious.
Gold stared down the hall, making note of how alone he was in this gym with her last remaining pokemon and the gym leader on the floor.

Quickly, he looted the body, taking from her the badge she was currently unable to hand over to him officially. Along with the badge, he removed a Technical Machine. He had no idea what it did, but he took it anyway.

"Quick Flaaffy! Let's get out of here!"

And then they used an escape rope.

Joey's Rattata wasn't like ordinary Rattata. It was, as Joey put it, in the top percentage of Rattata. It was slightly larger than your average of the species, a bit faster and much more resilient. It won every battle for him.

At least, it did until he met Gold. Momentarily Joey thought back to the battle, how his precious Rattata was manhandled by a Cyndaquil.

He swore on that day he would not stop training, he would not rest until his amazing Rattata could beat Gold who, by now, must have a full team of pokemon just as strong as his Cyndaquil.

With a determined look on his face, the youngester danced around in the tall grass, fighting Spearow and Marill in his quest to make his Rattata stronger.

He called Gold every day, reminding him about how his Rattata was in the top percentage. Every day, gold gave him the same response.

"That's cool, Joey. But you have to remember... it's still just a Rattata."

Just a Rattata? /Just/? His Rattata was amazing! How dare he demean it so! Joey's heart ached for a chance to prove himself, and finally he did.

When Team Rocket came to Cherrygrove.

They wanted to take the pokemon in the pokemon center.

Joey would not stand for it, fighting against Rocket Rattata that could not compare to his own.

"My Rattata is in the top percentage of all Rattata!"

However, his pride was cut short by an Executive of the organization, who towered over him. His bright green hair clashed heavily with the red and black of his uniform, yet he still looked intimidating. Frightening.

"Top precentage, you say?" Proton asked, removing a pokeball from his belt. "Well, my boy. That certainly is impressive."

"However, my Arbok is also in the top percentage of all Arbok. And your pokemon? It's just a Rattata."

Stockpile. Swallow.
