Because I don't know when to quit.   

Rules:

- Maximum of 2000 words, no minimum.
- Short stories only.  If there's interest for other kinds of written work such as poetry or scripts, we may hold contests for those in the future.
- No plagiarism.  This one's a given.  If you're found out on this you may even be banned from the site.
- If your story contains adult material (drugs, sex, disturbing violence) provide a warning at the top of the piece.
- One story per person.
- There must be at least 4 entries for the large prize to be given out.  Sorry, but I'd feel a bit cheated if I dealt out cash and there was only one entry.
- Entries close at 11pm, 12th September, Japan Time.

When you have written your story, please PM it to me.  When the contest is complete, I will post them all up in the Written Works forum.  You can also repost it in your own thread - but only when the contest is complete.

The Prizes

Same prizes as last time, because they have not depreciated in awesome.

- A copy of Monkey Island 2 on Steam
- A copy of Plants vs Zombies (either on Steam or not - whatever floats your boat)
- A copy of George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones

A note about that last prize:
If you live in the US and have an Amazon account - I can send you the real life book without you even giving me your address.
If you live outside the US - well that's going to cost me a lot in postage, but I will buy you the e-book if that floats your boat.

Regardless of how many entries I get, the winner will also get a lousy 'Winner' award made by me.

Theme makes me think of Castle in the Sky. Trying not to copy Laputa.

Will temptation grasp me once more...I think it might.

At the moment there's no rule against it.  However, I don't recommend it - If only because I'll be your judge and if I don't have a clue what you're talking about, it's not going to be scoring you any points.   Feel free to try it if you think you can manage to pull in a non-member of the fandom.

I forgot to wrap this up last night.  I got home well after 11pm.
