To Thera!
« on: November 13, 2011, 01:14:57 PM »
Malicci Thaddeus Belroth made sure his new ally was dropped off in Thera. First thing he needed to do, however, was get himself ready. Usually, when being team players, Ritualists would make sure they knew how to Lend Health by heart. The black-haired man did not, so he needed to bring along a book of rituals to Mann. There were two more reasons he went to Maldesia to prepare. The first was his journal and that was quickly stuffed in a bag, along with the Ritualists' Book. The second required him to go deep underneath the manor, past the dungeon. The stairs down grew darker and darker as he ventured downward until he reached a room lit by an orb of yellow light.

At the end of the room was a set of light armor with the Belroth family crest, a shield on fire with a withered hand before it, on the front and their symbol on each shoulder. A voice came from the yellow orb, "You may not take your father's armor."

"Who is going to stop me? You?" He took out his runed sword from the scabbard on his back. "Nith. Reasha. Metochid. Those ones will end you." He pointed toward the said runes as he said their names. "It may have once been Demethus's armor... but I have no father and I am the head of this house. Everything in it is mine." No further objection came from the orb as the man put the light armor on. His sword was put on his back before he made his way back to the rift and to Thera. Not to mention his new 'ally'.

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

Tyval was dropped off in Thera, as planned. Right in the middle of Niveurbis. The Paladin never thought he would feel happy to return to such a chilly, smelly, vice-filled place!

Without thinking how his new ally of sorts would find him later, the Paladin let emotion take a hold of him and headed south. He had apparently forgotten the power of Word of Recall.

Of course, being Tyval, he got lost. Even in his home he was crap at navigating. And after much wandering, he found himself in New Thalos, somehow.

And then, he facepalmed, forgetting that he was wearing gauntlets. When the dizziness went away, he muttered a prayer, "word of recall".

And then Tyval was in Breengard. Before he even got to look around, suddenly something violently bumped into him,  knocking him down immediately. Two bird feet rested on his chestplate, talons dangerously close to his neck, the creature's weight keeping him down.

The bird beast stared right into the Paladin's eyes... then decided to lay down on top of him and just... sleep. By the same time, what looked like an animated tin can sat on Tyval's forehead.

The Paladin chuckled. "I missed you two as well."

Because recalling also makes your pet and mount show up.

"Manndamnit, he wandered off," Malicci muttered to himself when he landed in Niveurbis. He got out his book and looked through it. "Reasha and Jun? All right." He put the book back in the bag and brought out his runed sword again. He cut his hand on the blade, something he was all too used to doing. He chanted a few words and let himself bleed over the two runes specified. With a swift stab into the ground, a portal appeared that took him to a citizen of Brengaard and closed behind him. He checked to see if anyone was anywhere around him, then walked north from the Market Square until he found a Tyval covered in animals.

He pinched his temple and kicked at the paladin. "I didn't know you were that into animals, Tyval," he said when he saw a big one laying on the paladin's armor. "Get up. You can mount your mount later. Or be mounted by it, depends on whether you're a top or a bottom. You look like a bottom to me." Whether or not he was joking could not be easily determined, because Malicci never really smiled unless he was using an alias and his tone was always serious. He put the sword away and let blood drip from his hand without even tying up the wound. He would just cut it again later, so what did it matter?

What a beautiful moment, to be so abruptly interrupted by that killjoy, Mal. The hippogriff was nudged. "C'mon, wakey wakey." The mount yawned, and through the power of constant poking and prodding, stood up and proud like he was supposed to. And so did the Paladin, who still let out a Jerry Seinfeld-esque "Hello, Belroth." before, not without some trouble, getting on his mount's back. Nope, it would seem Tyval was a top. Or am I missing something?

"So, we're in Thera. What now?" I would appear visiting the Castle would have to wait.

"Hello, Tyval," Malicci replied in a rather nonchalant manner. His regular expression turned into a glare when Tyval asked that question. "Did you forget why we came here? A child in need of saving from a rat bastard who needs to crawl into a little hole and die? We seek him out, imbecile. If I were a lich, where would I hide a kidnapping victim...?" He shook his head. "Where would I hide a kidnapping victim regardless? Probably a cave somewhere out of the way or something. Maybe a temple with a basement if I wanted the relatives to find them." He put a finger to his temple.

"If you want to catch an evildoer, it's much better to think like one," he said. His voice had a prideful overtone, as if he relished in the fact that he thought like Demethus.

Tyval was about to say something - well duh, of course they were going to find little Matt! He had meant to ask what else should they do to achieve that goal! - but it was Belroth after all. No use arguing.

"And you are rather good at that, I suppose.", Tyval admitted. One man's insult was another man's praise. "A temple or a cave. There is no shortage of either in Thera, to be honest. Just within this city there are three temples and a cathedral!" A pause. "At least we have no shortage of places to look in."

Malicci smirked at Tyval's comment. "Of course I am. What would ever make you think anything different?" He moved a hand through his hair as if he were saying, 'Why, yes, I am the best thing since sliced bread.'

When Tyval spoke of there being no shortage of temples or caves, he motioned for the paladin to get a move on; he would follow. "No shortage indeed," he muttered. "Obviously, we check them all. Leave no stone unturned, hm?" he spoke when a commoner woman passed by.

"Hey, there, soldier," she said as she got a little closer to Tyval. "Mmm, if I weren't married, I would be all over you..." She blew him a kiss and moved on to the south.

The Paladin sighed in resignation after Malicci spoke. "Just within this city there are at least thr-" He was interrupted by the woman. Her remark got his attention, being directed at him and all. Within a second, his face would shift from puzzled, to embarrassed, passing by flattered and weary until it settled in 'utterly terrified'. The now red as a tomato Tyval made sure to pretend he hadn't heard her - even though the fact that he strategically moved to place Malicci between himself and the woman that was now leaving (all this while riding his hippogriff, mind you).

Only once she was safely away from sight Tyval spoke again.

"Alread-d-dy I f-feel violated... w-w-we are in Thera alright."

And without another word he gestured for Mal to follow. There was a cathedral nearby.
