"As you wish," said Evander with a nod.  He looked into her eyes with his brown eyes.  All he felt in that moment was a strange sense of calm.  He picked her up once again and he was about to go out the door when a loud banging sound came from outside.  He peeked out the door to see a mounted soldier who seemed to have been patrolling the area.

The captured soldier desperately cried for help, shouting that he was an officer of the law.  The guardsman asked, "An officer of the law?  What's your name, son?"
Sniffling, Clive answered, "I'm C-Clive Satyr, sir..."
The guardsman sat on his horse in place for a while.  "Hm... World's better off without a bastard like you."  He had his horse move on past.

Once the coast was clear, Evander took Raine outside, careful not to bump her against the doorway.  "Is there anything else you wanted?"

Evander silenced himself quickly.  He assumed she called the horse to ride it and as such helped her on as best he could.  The pain in his arm worsened still, but he couldn't have cared less.  He nervously tossed the money pouch from claw to hand and went right back inside to pay off the rest of the antidote.

In the meantime, Clive whined like a little bitch to anyone he hoped would listen.  He wasn't really sure what that would accomplish, other than making him look like a wuss.

"Are you going to be okay here... Who am I kidding, I don't think you will.  All right, we'll take the wagon. He's coming along, correct?"  Evan pointed to Zamir, who he thought was no more than an ordinary horse.  Once again, he carried her over to a seat in the front of the horse-drawn vehicle, where she wouldn't fall.  The horse seemed to not like that he was carrying her around, which made him a little uneasy. He swore his arm wanted him to be murdered.

"I suppose we could give the guy a little hell..." he said in an especially loud tone with his head tilted back so Clive could hear.
The soldier screamed, "No, no, I'm sorry!  I'm sorry!" while banging on the wall.  He gave up on trying to get their attention and slumped.  It was just that bitch named Karma coming after him.
Evander turned around and told the prisoner, "If you ever try something like what you just did again, I'm freezing your lips together.  Got it?"  An agreeable whimper came from the back.

Evander looked at the horse.  How a creature such as that could have been jealous, he understood.  There were weirder beings in his family reunion.  "I don't blame him, really-"  He inhaled sharply as her head slipped onto his lap. He couldn't finish his sentence, nor could he move her head, however uncomfortable he was with her head there.  On his lap.  He found a nearby pillow to put between his lap and the woman's head, so as to avert any unnecessary excitement.  Believe it or not, his health class was very explanatory when it came to sex and the forms of both women and men.  Reproduction was a sacred thing, only meant to be done when the two were sure to take care of the child together and to love it.

He got the wagon moving again down the road, hoping it would take him out of the country soon.  But, soon, he got tired as well.  Luckily, there was an inn just a little while away.  He could stay awake until he got there.  Once the wagon reached its destination, he picked up the apparently sleeping Raine and explained to the horse who seemed to have been following closely the whole time, "I know you want her to be with you, but she needs a real bed."  He took her inside and paid for a room with two beds.  The bed closest to the door was his, and he placed the apparently sleeping woman accordingly.

Another trip outside and he tied up the ordinary horses He even went in the back of the wagon and checked on his hostage.  He looked so adorable sleeping, Evan didn't want to wake him.  He untied the soldier, only to take off his bulky armor and re-tie his hands together tightly.  "Wake up," he said to the coward.
Clive murmured something about beaches and beautiful women, but he made it clear he was awake.  The coward was pulled into the inn only to get a bunch of strange glances from everyone and an occasional question of why he was tied up.  Crafty as he was, Evander told them, "Oh, he enjoys this.  He likes to play as if he is a slave.  Don't you, Clive?"
Clive muttered something abut how he was fine sleeping in the wagon and put on a fake smile. "Yes... M-master."  The last word came out as if he had thrown it up.
"What happened to your previous excitement?" Evan asked.
Clive gritted his teeth and said, "Forgive me, Master."  The glances of confusion turned into... glances of confusion, but for another reason.  The two walked to the room- Well, one walked.  The other was dragged against his will.  When they got inside, Clive tried to make himself smaller and hide in a corner.  Without the actual hiding.

"Hey, Garrett planned that, not me!" Clive countered as if that made it any better, Garrett being the man frozen to death.  "I wanted no part in it!"  Little did they know, he wanted no part in it for a reason very different from what they would expect.  He perked up when he heard her say the two would do it in front of him.  Usually, he had to pay for that kind of entertainment!  He relaxed and thought, Maybe I could get used to this.

Evander jumped back, his face wide-eyed.  It was not that he didn't know how; his health class was very explanatory.  It was not that he was afraid he wouldn't do it right.  It definitely was not that he was afraid she would get pregnant.  "I like you," he uttered, "But not that much."  He sat on the other bed and tried to explain, "I always believed that sex was a sacred thing, meant only to be done by two people who truly loved each other.  I do want to, but at the same time, I don't want it to mean nothing."  He looked to her, his brow raised in a curious manner.  "If you don't mind my asking, what did your father do?"

Evander shut up.  He crossed himself at least twice, with a look of horror on his face.  "I'm so sorry," he whispered.  "A child is a blessed thing and to have one taken away..."  He couldn't imagine that kind of pain. 

From his little corner, Clive piped up, "Maybe you wouldn't have been a good mother anyway.  I me-" He was interrupted by a sudden fist in his face.  The prisoner shut up and went back to his whimpering.  Maybe speaking up was a bad idea.

Speaking up was definitely a bad idea, and now the coward was probably going to die.  "I'm.. sorry," he got out, despite being choked, possibly to death.  It took a special kind of anger to strangle someone, especially on a busted knee.  "Please.. I didn't... mean it..."  He just wanted to be an ass and make his kidnapper suffer a little.  He couldn't help it if he was a bastard!  At least, that's what he thought.

Evander was bout to point out that Raine should not have been standing, but decided he didn't want to get on her bad side.  He stood there watching the scene unfold.
