Crazy kids.
The old man eased himself out of the vehicle, rather gingerly. Whether it was from the pain or wanting to keep a low profile, one way or another he managed to stand off to the side without attracting any attention - as far as he knew.
One look at the baseball to camera action and he knew what his next course of action should be. Get as far away from these lunatics as possible. It was obvious he would have to resolve this issue by himself.
A quick inspection of the other party members to ensure they were all occupied with something or the other and he was off. Creeping towards the farthest wall in the opposite direction of the ruckus without paying heed to any prying cameras that might be trained at him. After all, what was a camera going to do? Have them expecting him?
There was a sly grin on his face. Either way this played out, he was going to have some darn good fun.

JoJo crawled out of the vehicle, slightly sick from the car ride. But that was okay, there was gonna be fish right? Once she saw the tall, ominous building, she had a feeling that there won't be any. JoJo made a soft, disappointed grunt.
All the members were clamoring about. Something was up. Were they on a hunt? JoJo liked hunts. Hunts mean something was gonna get killed and that usually means meat. At least she'll get
something
out of this trip.

Pan followed the rest of the team and leaped out of the vehicle, landing as gracefully on the ground as an infant pokemon could.
Which wasn't very.
She tumbled a little bit but quickly recovered, shaking the dust and grass out of her fur as she looked up at the tall building that loomed over the landscape.

If Cookie could use mental powers, even if for a tiny little bit, she'd be able to use the Mercury card and the Mandragora card for a rose whip. Nice attack bonus, aesthetically pleasing, and a Castlevania reference, everybody wins.
Well, no harm in asking, at "worst" she wouldn't be able, and then Ansrit would be able to use something else to back up the team. Either way is a win.

Zeal tapped her bat against her shoes and reached into her bag to get a biscuit for Jozie. She's been through plenty of wars, having crossed through time and space. Robots, though, she hadn't faced in a long while... and none this intelligent. Looking down at the little dragon she reached into her bag again and pulled out a fishy snack and gave it to it, smiling. At least this time she wouldn't be fighting alone.

"Geezer! Don't wander off now. I don't want to have to ask security to find you."
During the madness, Claine casually went up to the elevator, pressing the call button. After several seconds she noticed that the elevator was not yet moving. She jabbed at the button a few more times. Still nothing. This couldn't be because of Testbot, could it? There must've been repairs or happening upstairs or something.
She pointed at the nearby stairs. "Everybody, up the stairs."

Oh thank the dragons in the stars! The woman has a fishy treat for JoJo! She snapped up the fishy treat and thanked Zeal by licking the tips of her fingers. This is definitely going to be a fun trip.

"Stairs?" Sparrow asked moodily. "We're battling a robotic uprising and we have to take the
stairs?
Whatever." She shrugged, starting up the steps. She kept the baseball bat out and over her shoulder, liking the heft of it in her hand. Even so, it couldn't compare with her Shotgun. She'd save that for a really dire emergency, though, since it really tired her out. Looking to the side, she noticed the small dragon Zeal carried with her.
"Ooh, cute dragon." She cooed. "Hi there. Want a cookie?" The oreos had greatly dwindles thanks to her and Cookie, but she was more than willing to share.

JoJo turned her head, noticing that someone was trying to get her attention. Seems that she's offering her a treat. She has seen this treat before, but she thought it was strictly for humans since only they seemed be enjoying it. Oh well. It was hers for the taking! She ate the cookie, tasting it sweet creamy center and crunchy chocolate bits. It was new to her, but it somehow made her feel happy. And just for that, she thanked her in the same finger-licking gesture.

In case a robot tried to go down the "broken" elevator (and with the increased chance robots had complete control over it), she buried a pitfall seed directly in front of the entrance. So, if one
did
try to use it and the elevator worked, well, the situation would go something like this:
"DELETE. DELETE.
(Still fighting Cybermen, I see.)
DELETE." The Cyberman stepped forward, only to fall headfirst 50 feet under the ground.
"
Schwarzenegger
would have taken the stairs," Cookie said. She had an old habit of dashing up stairs, but after a little while, she found herself gasping for breath.
"Sheesh, how many flights is this?" She looked at the number on the wall that read,
"One more than the last floor."
Cookie frowned, both at the bad sign-making and her unfitness.

"Hey, look on the bright side... At least Daleks probably can't climb stairs." Sparrow panted, joining Cookie on the landing. She'd probably have a heart attack if she heard that monotonous "EXTERMINATE. EXTERMINATE." coming from somewhere nearby.
"Looks like it may take a while for the others to catch up... Especially Gramps down there..." She muttered. "We should rest for a bit, yes? Yes." She slumped down to the floor, resting her head against the wall.

As epic as a legendary pokemon could. Pantei ran up the stairs, tripping over the edges every now and then. She noticed the others beginning to slow down, and coasted to a stop.
"Tired already??"

Cookie jumped. "How did you read my mind?!" Her paranoia did not get any better what with Sparrow's recent mind-reading. She smirked as she pushed the button on a tape recorder in her back pocket that would most likely never be seen again and only existed for comedic effect.
"EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" it played back from an episode Cookie watched a few months ago, "DALEKS ARE SUPREME! ALL HAIL DALEKS!"
Cookie kept a serious face plastered on the whole time.
"I should not have tried to jog, miss Pantei. Just a minute."

Sparrow was about to say 'and no, I didn't read your mind...' but then that would have been mind-reading... except it wasn't... but it was... so she shut up. Upon seeing the pokemon, she waved.
"Nah, we're fine, boss." She said. "Just catchin' my breath. So, um... what's waiting for us at the top of these stairs?" She stood and walked over to the center of the tower, trying to peer up between the flights to see how much farther they had to climb.

Claine is a nerd, and as a rule, nerds tend to not be very fit. It was a hard climb up the stairs. She hoped each corner would be the last - but time after time, there would be another flight of stairs. Finally, they reached a heavy door. Claine pulled it open - and before them stood a lobby.
The building was quite well furnished. There was a waiting area on the far side of the room, with three plush couches, a coffee table and an exquisite rug. A businesswoman sat there, sipping a cup of coffee and leafing through a newspaper. Closer to the door was a long bench with several secretaries working away behind it. One - a young blonde woman wearing square glasses noticed the ... ensemble entering.
"Can I help you?" she asked politely - although surely her finger hovered above the security alarm.
